What to do with all those books I am experiencing a personal interior design dilemma. Neither my home nor my office has enough space for all the art and design books that I have been collecting for decades. It’s an ongoing debate: Should I keep them? Give them away?...

I admire the contemporary aesthetic and cozy sensation of the Costura Sofa Collection, a new line of upholstered sectionals and chairs by the talented designer Jon Gasca, exclusively available at DWR.  

Door and cabinet hardware are the jewelry of a room.   They matter and often not given enough attention when building and remodeling. Shown is door knob no 1590 from Nanz.  So elegant and timeless. .

  This is an iPhone snapshot of a kitchen in a town home I designed.  I love  the way the onyx backsplash came out.  I had the fabricator install the stone so the veining runs vertically.  

Hard to believe the four seasons in Vail will celebrate its 6th anniversary this year.  I remember writing about the excitement surrounding it's opening.  The interior design has aged very well, the patina makes the space feel warmer.

Nierman Weeks,  a family owned lighting and accessories company is one of my favorite companies.  I am especially impressed with how their designs are based in antiquity but work remarkably well in modern interiors.  I just love their mirrors in this picture!...

The newly remodeled, Gurneys Resort  and Seawater Spa (when I was young  it was simply called Gurneys Inn) in Montauk, NY is wonderful.  The design is clever, upscale but remains casual. gurneysmontauk.com

    The East End of Long Island is a very special place for me.  I have fond memories and I just love being here...spectacular beaches, interesting little towns, galleries and wonderful food. This is going to sound strange but It looks  different  here too....
